g60 running probs
my mate ha a bump in his g60 so i took all the intercooler pipes off and pulled the front end out . put it back together took it up the road and it started spluttering realy bad on full throttle. and noticed there was oil dripping from the intercooler pipes. so i disconnected the charger and it run fine. any ideas what it could be, and can u run these engines with out the charger as just a normal 1.8.

Oil in the intercooler pipes - possibly the charger has been damaged in the accident and its oil seals are shot? How come you got the job to fix it, not going thru insurance???

Why doesn't it run, and how come there's now oil in the inlet area? Was there oil there before?
Have you plugged VAG-COM into the car? I assume its still on its stock management.

I don't think you can simply take off the charger and run the car - why would you want to anyway??? The cam is different, the inlet manifold? Unsure of compression ratio? But the biggie will be the ECU map, it will be all over the place. The G60 is an electronic fuel injection car, the standard 1.8 in a Mk1 is K-Jet. So if you change a lot of mechanical parts, you might possibly end up with a normally aspirated Digifant?
