fuel pump fittings

Thanks for everyones help on solving my kangarooing, with help from everyone, I found the problem - the previous owner had put a replacement digi pump on and not the correct bosch one, difference in pressure causing all my problems.

I've had to get a new pump and the brackets  that hold it in place, and the metal pipe that goes from the pump to the accumalator.

I have been under the car and cannot for the life of me see any mounting points for the bracket and accumalator. I cant see a way of getting it all to fit  

The car is a 1992 gti cabby.

Has anyone any pics or diagrams of where things should be located. I've not got a Haynes yet.

Can anyone even give me some written help please.

Any help at all appreciated as I'm waiting to fit it all together.

is it a proper late cabrio setup, or an early MK1 GTI setup? the accumulator is located in a different spot on the later cabbies

Its a late cabby setup.

Do you know where about does the pump fit and where does the accumalator fit?

pump is right up near the beam, very close to the 'seat hump'
the accumulator is next to the fuel tank, it kinda a 90 degree angle. hard to explain! you should have holes on the chassis somewhere for the brackets to fit too, there are Z shaped brackets that bolt to the chassis, then you have rubber mounts, and then the brackets that hold the pump/accumulator.  There was a post around here somewhere…

what do you mean by seat hump?

the bit under the car that is behind the rear seat/footwell, basically where you have the fuel tank, the back where the boot floor drops down if that makes sence

is the pump fastened to the beam, and how far along- is it where passenger sits or is it underneath the o/s rear seat belt region of the beam

no its next to the beam, if you look where the tank is its near the front of there, just before the floor comes up to the footwell area. accumulator is further back and mounted at right angles just behind the beam
