Fuel filter

i went to get one today but the one they brought out was about an inch to fat?!!?!?!?!  :?   any suggestions?

Yours should have the fat filter according to VW's ETKA parts system, but it just sounds like you need the earlier type filter same as the MK1 GTI's have. VW part number is 431 133 511 D.
Do replace all the seals though as the old ones tend to leak if re used.

Bought a filter from GSF the other week and I said to the guy at the time it looked too big but he was insistant it was the one listed, even checking his book as well as the computer.  Got it home and it was way too fat.  When I took it back I gave him the code off the old one (WK618) and he dug the right one out straight away  :roll:
