fuel filter removal and vacuum hoses and fuel line sizes

Has anyone got any tips of how to remove the fuel filter? Gave it a go yesterday and it's fair to says it's impossible to get off!

Also, anyone got a list of the vacuum hoses and fuel line sizes? pretty sure all the piping in my engine bay needs renewing.
