Fitting a new cam advice please

looking for advice on fitting a new kent gs2 camshaft, basically I want to know do you need to re-shim the tappets, the haed was rebuit about 300m ago if that makes any differance, thanks in advance

Check and/or re-shim as needed. You have to set the gap cold before you try to start the engine and then check it again after break-in while warm. Follow the tightening sequence for installing the cam or you could very well break your new cam (been there done that more than once). Even if the maker or someone tells you that a cam does not need any break-in, don't believe it and do a good break-in procedure. I also made this mistake and ruined a brand new cam because someone told me that "chill hardened" cams don't need any break-in.
