emissions to high for mot

hi took my 1.8 gti for mot and the emissions were sky high does any one why or how to cheat them,allso failed on loads more but im geting there slowly very slowly,cheers gaz

Hi mate before a mot its good to give the engine a good blast to get it warmed up this can make a big difference on the c02 emissions. You can also tweak the air fuel mixture by adjusting the deep recessed screw on top of the metering head (gti models) but you will need to do this with the gas analizer in the exhaust to acheive the correct setting.
