Doesn't like starting when warm,?

My mk1, with 1.8 16v kr, starts on the button when cold, but if you take it for a spin & try when warm, it will turn & turn for around 30-40 seconds & then fire up! Any ideas guys? :dontknow:

I had same problem. The fuel mix was to rich. If it was -10 it would start as soon as you turned key. Once warm would take ages. Most garages will set the mixtures for you very cheap.

Thanks for the replies! The description I gave wasn't quite accurate though! Sorry, it starts on the button cold, and will also start when warm, providing you start it as soon as you've turned it off. But if you then tease it 10, 20 minutes, it will then take 30, 40 seconds of turning to start wich is extremely embarrassing!

yeah check accumulator and non-return valve, these hold system pressure for a while after switch off. if you loose pressure too soon the petrol evaporates in the lines and makes warm starting a sleyg
