does it run o.k? suspect it'll idle, rev like that, but when you drive it, it struggles to give any power?

You can't diagnose if its running rich, lean, or if there's an ignition fault, without actually measuring things, because all 3 of those faults produce the same thing - poor running. Some people claim to be able to sniff richness, but I doubt if its with any accuracy (and in any case, it could be an ignition fault).

So, its gas analyser time, ideally.

But here's a little tip - make yourself a little loom with an electrical connector to the 5th injector, a push button and connect it to the battery. Hold the car at, say, 3000rpm and pulse the switch. If the car picks up, its too lean, if it runs slower, its too rich. You can make a crude estimation of how much lean, by seeing how long you need to press the button down, or how much its on during pulsing, before the revs start to lower (due to it being way too rich). I made my little test loom using a terminal off another wiring loom I had handy - all the connections are similar/same.

aye or cam, whats plugs look like when its warm? that video was class mate, way u came back to camera with hands in pockets peed off!
