distributr cap

hi is there a certain order the leads from the spark plugs to the cap should be in as i am havin trouble after removed car not gettin as spark after new coil and alternatore fitted, and still nothin    it if there is can anyone show me pic or diagram or am i just been stupid thinkin this :dontknow:  thanks everyone

sorry the distributor cap people  ops:  

Firing order is 1-3-4-2.  If your looking directly above the distributor cap, put the lead that is at the 10 o clock postiion  to no.1 cylinder (left hand spark plug on the engine), the lead at 2 o clock postion on the cap goes to number 3 spark plug, 4 o clock to number 4 (right hand spark plug) and the 8 o clock postion goes to number 2……hope you got the jist of that explanation  :mrgreen:
