Digifant or K-jet

Hi i recently bought a mk1 1.8 8v inj gti cabroilet it has the K-jet sytem on it but compared to my old mk2 which was standard and had the digfant sytem the mk1 is powerless need help just fitted new timming belt leads plugs and that, it needs a new filler neck as there is rust in the tank but the car seems to be running and reving ok apart from no reall pulling power like my mk2 was not sure if it was just the difference between the two systems???

the k-jet should fly….there's gotta be a problem somewhere

aren't digifants refered to as digipants for a reason?

what BHP should this engine be producing?

Digifant GTI had same bhp as K-jet GTI. Cab GTI did weigh about 100kg more than a tin top GTI, but didn't make it that much slower. Have you checked the ignition timing and fuel mixture?

produced the same bhp but more torque. the max bhp and torque figures were lower in the rev range too. the floppies weigh about the same as a mk2 gti, so there should be similar performance 0-60 wise.

done all the timing and full service still the same though could it be the air flow meter? still to check the mixture
