correct procedure to start-up the 1.8 KJet

I have noticed that if I follow this procedure the cars runs smoothly also in the very first 1-2 min (usually for 1-2 min when the engine is very cold it runs rough below 2000 rpm).

This is the procedure.

1_press the accelerator all the way down
2_release the pedal
3_press the pedal half way and keep it in this position
4_start-up the engine while keeping the pedal half way.

Is it normal or is it a symptom of something getting bad?

The K-Jet is designed to start hot or cold, simply by turning the key (no pressing of the throttle required). However it doesn't always work out like that once it wears. Pressing the throttle half way down during startup, to make it start, sounds like flooding. You could spend a long time tinkering with various things before giving up, because the engine is worn instead of fresh and the fuel injection components are calibrated to do starts warm/cold assuming a new engine.

If I simply turn the key, no throttle, the car starts up flawlessly and the idle is at a steady 800 rpm. The weird thing is that for the very first two min, especially if outside it is very cold, it runs rough below 2000 rpm.
