Cold Start Issue 1.8 8v K-Jet DX Engine Code

Hi there….

I have had some real problems with my 1.8 8v K-Jet running from cold. Once started the engine would sound choked & run at low revs, then stall. Once this process is repeated 4 if not 5 times the egine would warm & run as sweet as a nut!!!! GRRR

Have read around and found the main areas of concern to be the 5th Injector or Warm Up Regulator.

I have replaced the 5th Injector….no change

I unplugged the warm up reg & the car started easily & run smoothly….does this mean it is broken or is there something else at fault???

Also having problems with fuel pump relay number 62…the fuel pump keeps cutting out, I hear relay No 2 could be used??

Anyone got any spares???

Beware of using an ordinary relay.  They will fit and make the fuel system work, BUT… The other connection on the fuel system relay senses if the engine stops running, and cuts the fuel flow after a few seconds in the event of, say, an accident.  8O
