Cold start and injectors issue!

Hi!

I have some problems with my 1,8 CIS engine JH. Problem is with cold start. It starts every time put it will not stay running even if i rev it want to die. I must play lot with rev and after that it will stay running and run very smoothly. I find in the forum that there should be black wire connected to starter. I have only red and black connected. Do anyone know where that black wire should go? How I can check is the TTS (thermo time switch working) ?
There is other issue also. I wanted to change injection seals but I could not get them out. Is there eny tips how to get them out? (Afraid to brake something)

hi

the Csv would not cause the problems you describe , it could be leaking injectors , flooding the engine bores & causing the problems described.
My csv was faulty for months & the car just took a few more turns to start then ran fine once started

Thank for your reply. Injectors leak because the bigger or smaller seal? The other question is how to get out the injectors? I have find that there is some special tool for it and on the forum the is some advises but is there some simple one? Today I flooded them over with WD40 and try tomorrow to quiz them out.

you just hav to pull them they should pop out,
mine were leaking and i ended up with petrol in my oil,i changed the injectors and flushed the oil out with engine flush added good oil and runs fine now.
i did have a bit of a battle with one or two of them,i think new injectors from gsf are around 40 each.

In case you are still having problems removing the injectors, this is the method I used copied from one of the Ferrari forums. It removed my originals in 20 mins once I'd finished messing about scraping my knuckes and butchering my fingers trying to get leverage but desperate to avoid snapping the actual injectors or the seatings. The seals were rock solid and formed into hex shapes.
The large tube piece was reduced in length to make removal of the injector underneath the throttle cable bracket, possible. Total cost £1.90 from local nut and bolt merchant, for the tube piece I used a leftover from a bicycle A-Head convertor but go to plumbers merchant and get some tubing that will accommodate the "stud connector" which is the widest moving part to be pulled up into the tube. Obviously old style injectors with coarse thread. Hope this is useful.

I find today that I miss the " Idle stabilizer control unit" relay (The highest one on the right)  Should my car JH engine have there relay or not? And work that relay must do?

There is place for them! I have not looked is there some wires backside or not. It is not so much place there then I thought it would be easier to ask here because I think there is quite many who have JH engine on their car and it is not big work to look have i that relay or not.

right if there is a relay socket, then yes it should have a relay. if the car wasnt supposed to have that realy there would be no wiring or socket for it.

just make sure its definitely for the idle control relay, as there are lots of other relays that could be clipped above the fusebox. electric windows, coolant level warning light control, rear wiper, etc.  tell us what the wire colours are :)
