Can rocker cover bolts be replaced?

Hey all,

Can the above be changed, my bro was 'tinkering' with the car i've just sold him and he went to remove the rocker cover and 2 of the bolts are just spining and as such he can not get the cover off. Please not that this is definately the BOLT which is spining as you can see it when you try and move the NUT with a spanner. Apparently this is now dumping loads and loads of oil all over as the rocker cover can no longer be secured with enough force to squeeze the gasket. My initial reaction would be to put a tack on it, but I guess that it's alu and steel and as such that wouldn't be ideal/possible - plus you can only do that once the covers off. Given that this is a bit of a known problem has anyone any ideas on how best to resolve this. The car is currently off the road as it's dumping that much! please any help would be greatly received., he needs the car this weekend.

I have searched but all other 'spinning' problems turned out to be threads on the nut

Regards.

Mike

you need to get a helicoil to repair the thread in the head, a local garage might be able to do this

Do we know what size helicoil repair kit I need as you have to buy a specfic size kit, there's no generic one

Thanks
