Best place to buy Coolant Hoses

Post

Can anyone recommend where to buy a set of rubber hoses for the coolant system? While I have the system drained dow, I am replacing water pump and thermostat and might as well replace all the hoses. How many are there?
It's an 83 Tintop GTi :)

I thought the standard black silicone stuff was pretty good.

Maybe they are good, but under any bonnet of a mk1 gti the original look is best especially if its a daily.  I removed my orignal 30 year old coolant pipes probably about 3 years ago not because they had failed so they do last.  Personally i use my mk1 gti most days & due to the design of the air flow there would be no point in fitting fancy coolant pipes as the road grime just hits everything head on inside the bay.

i definitely wouldn't buy from samco, at least not through venom motorsport. although it's debatable who's fault waiting nearly 3 and a half months for 12 black hoses is. just to let you know!

I brought a samco hose from this company.

I was only one hose as thats all I needed and it was here the next day! I would recommend the company.

I'm wondering if these guys got enough interest whither they would start making them for the Mk1 http://www.classicsiliconehoses.com/
And you can specify a matt finish !

Saw them on Car SOS yesterday, brilliant little company, i'm sure they would be interested in doing some for the mk1. By the looks of their price list it would be a pretty competitive set too.

I watched the Lotus episode last night and thought exactly the same!!

I wonder if they would do them at a more competitive rate than main stream suppliers???
