Audi/16v WUR

Ive been sourcing a few engine bits for my golf recently and im almost done searching, but i still need an Audi or 16V warm up regulator.

I've been reading online, and to get the best gains from my Audi 5pot throttle body, freshly ported inlet manifold and 4 branch manifold it seems im going to have to carry out the WUR upgrade.

Can anyone tell me the part number of these parts, as i may try and get a new one from my work.

Ive also heard that adjusting (retarding) the timing on Mk1's with slightly tuned engines gives slightly better gains aswell. Is this correct and is it something i should be considering once the above parts are fitted?

Thanks in advance  8)

i think the audi tb is actualy same bore as mk2 8v/16v one, though the audi one might be more suitable in terms of the throttle cable connections? as for wur 16v one is:

The 16v one does not set the correct cold and warm control pressures for an 8v engine, you can adjust it by using the "16v WUR mod".

I strongly suggest that you set it up using a pressure gauge, you really do not want to run a kjet engine lean higher up the rev range.

Cheers for the info guys. Ive got a guy over on ScottishVAG who has two 16v engines that he can donate parts from.

Does anyone have a picture of the mk2 16v WUR so i can be double sure what im buying is correct.

I found a picture of an engine bay on this website before that had 9 or 10 parts highlighted, numbered and named but i cant seem to find it now  :banghead:

it looks similar to your old one, metal block with 2 fuel lines on front of head.  difference is 16v one has a vac connection on the side, and another capped connection on the front, plus its a tad larger.

lhasadreams all the k-jet manuals I've seen suggest the cold & warm pressures are the same values for 8v and 16v wur. Or is the difference in the metering head itself somehow?

Is this a 16v WUR?

does look like it, but ideally you want a part number off it to be sure as theres a massive range of cars that used k-jet, volvo, saab, ford, ferarri, porsche, audi, mercedes etc etc
