8v Inlet Manifolds

Hi, I am new on here and my interest in VWs at present is in getting a MkII Gti 'PB' Digifant engine into a T3 /T25 Transporter.

The challenge I currently have is that the PB inlet manifold is too big at the no4 cylinder end. I have seen that the MkI manifold (DX, JJ, etc) seems to lean in the opposite direction to fit the throttle body at the right hand end. This layout could well help me.

Can anyone advise please whether the MkI manifold would work OK on the PB engine? Are the throttle bodies the same?

If it will, can anyone tell me how big the manifold is - that is, how far does it stick out from the side of the cylinder head? What I need is the height as measured in the photo in this thread, please. http://www.clubgti.com/forum/showthread.php?t=206661

thanks
Garyd
