1990 cabby 1.8 gti HELP!!! please

Hi guy's, and girls.
I need a little advice, I brought a 1990 GTI  cabby, it sat in a car park for the best part of two years. I took the plugs out and dropped a little oil down the barrels turned her over a couple of times then put the plugs back in. now here's my problem, she fires up but then stalls within a second or two. I've checked the plugs and all the connections but I'm left scratching my head.  the fuel is getting in and the sparks are strong. what am I missing? :dontknow: Thanks in advance

Look for an air leak of some kind. Cracked boot, missing or torn hose, missing pipe, that kind of stuff.

Octane drops through years.

New gasoline - gogogogogogo!

Some says that 6 months and the gas _can_ be unusable

I'll check for leaks later today.
When the car was parked up it was pretty much empty. Ive since put 10 ltrs of new fuel in.
I'll just have get my fault checking head on.
