1982 1600 mixture adjustment

Hi,

My revs drop when my foot is put on the brakes.

Apparently this is a symptom of a rich mix.

So I've got a long 3 mil allen key and I've tried to adjust the screw, but it doesn't feel like its doin anything and just turns in both directions without any change. If I put too much pressure on the screw the plate depresses.

….any ideas ?

You should be able to feel the allen key slot in to the adjustment socket, try to avoid pressing down on it as can upset adjustment. Adjusting the mixture will effect the idle rpm so you should notice this if nothing else.

naa it just spins and I cant feel the slot

I know it's there as I had a ?30 'tune' prior to sorting my injector leaks

Maybe it's not 3mm ?

Should definetely be 3mm, possible the idle adjustment screw is missing or has been swapped for one with a different head :dontknow:
