16v question

Hi

I've recently bought a golf with a 1.8 16v kr engine conversion. There are no problems driving it but the oil pressure light comes on and off quite regular, I'm changing the sensors and the oil filters but the other day I stopped the engine when it was hot from driving and tryed to start it straight after and it was very slow at turning over and then suddenly fired! It seems to be fine cold though. Could this indicate oil pump is on its way or do you have any other suggestions?

Sounds more like a high resistance in an engine earth or feed cable/ poor connection.
