16v metering head on 8v gti

has anyone tried a mk2 16v metering head on a mk1 8v having a bit of trouble with mine at the minute and was thinking of fitting the 16v one to see how it fairs also i,m told the 16v warm up regulator is a good mod fof the 8 v if you plumb in A  t piece for the extra vacumm pipe has anyone tried it and if so with what results the car is a mk1 gti dx bored out to 1.9
