1.8gti fuel pump problems

hi, i have just moved my golf into my new garage, towed it there, when i got there next day went to start her up and the fuel pump wasnt working. checked the relay and fuse all fine. when i turned the ignition on the fuel pump always use to make a buzz noise, but now nothing...... any ideas people?

How did you check the relay? You can create a 'jumper' so that you effectively have the pump on all the time. That way you could at least tell that the pump works. The other option is to turn the ignition and see if you get 12V across the pump. Check the wiring at the back of the fuse box - these are notorious areas for water to get in and stuff up the wiring.

Do you have the fuse mounted in the top of the relay?

ye the relay had a fuse mounted on the front of it, that was fine, all the wiring is good, the jumper is between 13 and 17 i think or 15 and 17. havent tried that yet, was a bit hesitant about doing that, i tried looking for wires going to the fuel pump but had no luck

The wires to fuel pump are located under back seat bench, under here you will see a black plastic cover these are your electrics for fuel pump. which you can trace to your pump. under car

These wires are in the same loom (runs along drivers side of car) for rear lights from fuse/relay box and then splits half way up the car, to go to which i described above.
