can anyone explain to me the benifit of fitting a 1.6 metering head to a 1.8?

1.6 metering head is different, it can flow more fuel. paul has a post somewhere detailing the difference using a a/f gauge etc

Hmm, I did it the other way round to get me out of a sticky situation a few years ago and it overfuelled like hell.

Well thats a new one on me and after a lot of testing I have always thought of the WUR as being the little sod that controls the mid to high end fuelling, I know bosch did two different sized metering units, I think one was 70mm and the other was 110mm  and a few different heads 4 6 and 8 cyl engined ones, some of the bigger powered engines used the 8 cylinder head with 4 blanked off so the injectors could be higher flowing.

The WUR controls the whole system mixture so if anything swapping those between engines would be a safer bet than the whole metering units if you are having problems with top end mixture control,

interesting reading

makes me want to get a data logger much cheaper than rolling road sessions :-) just need to get an accelerometer !
