1.8 gti help .

hi guys thanks for looking would love any sort of pointers as im out of ideas atm,

got a mk 1 golf 1.0l but has had a 18 gti engine put in badly i might add , after a good few nights tidying things up which i hoped would of fixed the not starting when hot problem , it hasnt  ,,

so the problem i have got it is . it will start from cold and drive superb, 2 or 3 minute ride and it wont start just keeps cranking ,

i know there is a few post about this and i have looked through,

things i have done new leads plugs cap arm< came with the car >

fuel filter new lines cleared.

new pump and fuel acumulator . had  kicking about .

cant find this hall sensors which a few posts refer to .

checked timing marks but havent checked the 3rd wheel forgot its name atm to stressed  .

also was wondering dose any 1 have a picture of a fuel accumulator mounted as i think this might be the problem its lying on its side and if iirc it supose to be upright ?

any piointers would be great thank you ..

Avoid with a barge pole!!!!!!!!!

Maybe the installation is missing some of the K-Jet fuel injection parts. It sounds like it, for example the accumular is a cylinder and it wouldn't make any difference how its mounted, however to mount it vertical? How??? etc etc

Your best hope is to get the car side-by-side with a proper GTI and go through the entire fuelling and engine electrical system, to figure out what's installed and what's not. It could come down to something as simple as the wrong metering head, after all what do you have???

etc

Hall sender is on the dizzy - what one did they use? The GTI one? etc

cheers paul . the accumulator on my rst was upright in the engine bay so was just clutching at straws tbh ..as ive done most of the things ive found /heard .

well the story with the car it was given to me to sell . i had the buyer lined up and the lad who i was selling it for wanted the log book signed over that day instead of waiting 1 day for the sale so to cut  long story short i ended up with it , its a lovely clean car all tidy < now>

there supose to be 2 golfs in the garage mine and a donor and everyhting was took off that if that is true well i dont know , but there is a lad i know with a gti mk 1 will have a look ..

What's an RST? Are you sure it has an accumulator?

The accumulator is at the back of a Mk1 Golf GTI.
