good solid engiens, cheap n cheerful. if yours is a 1.3 driver you'll have to move the mount bracket on the driver side chassis leg

Was gonna buy it because it's cheap, I have a GTI shell with its loom still in it, so through it might be an easy conversion, is the anything else that needs moving apart from engine mount?

I like mine, its not the tidiest of engines but i think looks right. Ok so i need to sort out the oil leak and tidy it up a bit but witt 125000 give or take a mile on the clock and is still going strong.

Cool will have a think about it then, what do you think a full engine and box set up should go for?

thebasic engien block is pretty much worthless, they're all over and no-one really wants em. all the bits that go ewith it is where the value is really. I had 1.8 gti lump from a mk2 which is basically the same and couldnt even give it away for free!

£50 can get you a 16v lump if you shop around, £40 a 2.0 8v etc. everyone wants abf or 20v engines these days and even those dont really set you back that much.

tbh if i were you id be on the look out for a polo 1.4 16v lump, fit with full injection ecu etc. much easier than movign the mount bracket, and tryign to pull toghether a complete kjet system that aint junk

Will the 1.4 16v drop straight in on to the mounts?
Would like to do a G40 conversion but you just can't find them anywhere

you wont need to move the mount on the leg, but you might have to make/modify the driver side engine bracket thinking about it, depending on the alternator setup you go for.

keeps it kinda 'in the spirit' of originality as its still technically a small block I like to think  plus will till be cheap tax :)
