Bike carbs?

New to the mk1 scene and this may be a very sill question! but can you fit bike carbs to a k-jet 8v engine? or i am being silly lol:lol:

When the GTI came out people raved about how starting/running/performance/fuel economy was miles better than carburettors. Now people junk the K-Jet and put carbs on, uh?
