i would make ur own water hoses and boost pipes using samco and get the boost pipes from ebay i got a universal 4 70quid

i got my mounts from ebay.. jus type in 20v mk1 golf mounts or sumet like that… i used the origanal box from the mk4 golf cuase its strong enough.. it fits and runs perfectly with the cable changer 2 the hole in the floor for the origanl gear changers on the mk1
yer u cna use the 20v manifold however u do need 2 get a new downpipe made! i just got the whole exhaust system made by a stainless steel place in cardiff called pro speed exhausts.. £300 for a full system.. and sounds amazing :p

Engine £600-£800
Mounts £180
Suspension £300
Brakes (Vauxhall Conversion inc disc etc) £150
Pipe work £100
Exhaust £300
ECU (standalone) £600+
Polybushes £100 (?)
Bits and bobs £200
So comes in at £2500 ish you have to realise though there is always something you forget that you need.
Also it all depends on what and how far you want to go.
My "Build" breaks down to this………….
Engine + G/Box + Qpeng £1200
Suspension (KWs V1 Inlox) £630
Exhaust £ 250
Corrado G/Selector £50.00
100mm D/Shafts + New Rubbers etc £100
FMIC (Sprinter) £60.00
Spal 12" Fan £60.00
MK2 Rad £20.00
Guages (Boost,Oil,Oil Temp + Senders etc) £70.00
Gaskets,Nuts, Bolts etc £50.00
Remap (Qpeng) £50.00
Tacho Box (On Order) £50.00
Short Shift £60.00
So thats £2650 obviously i could have saved money on suspension for instance but why scrimp ?
That price does not include the massive amounts of Fish N Chips and Tea and Biscuits for my lovely Club Members that have helped me for free also some parts i got off Club members at a cheaper price and some even for Free !!!
My car cost £2800 so plus that im in at £5390 alos i probably have forgoton stuff so add another £300 im still under my £6000 goal i set myself.
You need to work it all out and not be one of the many "unfinished projects" you see everywhere, i still believe if you pick the correct car to start with and you shop around you can achieve the goal and in the future you should hardly lose any money, I hav already been offered £5500 for my car but there is NO WAY im selling after all the late nights and work that has gone into it but as you can see i would not lose a penny which is great stuff, Yes you could buy one done but that is missing the point, I had NO KNOWLEDGE on cars in general before i started this and i have most of that left !!!!!!
But joking aside i have learnt loads we managed to achieve getting the car on the road in 10 sessions down the garage spread out over a 6 months, If we had all the correct parts there im sure we could have done it all in a 3 or 4 goes but i was not bothered as it was all over Winter we did and lots of times working into the night.
Like i have said before i could not have achieved this without my wonderfull mates i have made in my local club, we have had lots of laughs along the way and very few tears ( infact none ) when things go wrong (which they will) i have found it very very funny infact my club mates looked more worried than i ever did.
Good luck with what ever you decide mate.
