4-1 or 4-2-1 & Makes

Hi all,

Ive got a 92 clipper (1.8 8v) with a single weber carb and a milltek exhaust (front pipe back). Im after changeing the manifold to a stainless item, im on a budget so wont be spending £400+ on a supersprint etc so im after your suggestions on a cheap one ie: fit, performance, any makes to steer clear of and whether to get a 4-1 or 4-2-1 branch manifold (with reasons for and against) What are the ones of ebay like, I know you generally get what you pay for but surely they've got to be better than the cast manifold?

All comments welcome

In a standard car the cast manifold actually flows pretty well, as long as it's not the toilet bowl shaped one. The issue with s/s is that they are known to crack on a fairly regular basis, are expensive to buy & expensive to repair. If your car is standard I'd fit the cast manifold 4-2-1 with the six studs on the flange, I don't think you can go wrong with that.
