I'm driving a golf mk1 1.5 gl 4 door.

I just want to gain a bit of power. It's completely original right now.

I really have no clue what i could do to gain some horses.. Other than engine swapping.???

i assume a 1.6 gti cam would fit, but you may want to research that more. likewise the dizzy for a more aggressive ignition map

Buy a GTI.

Prob cheaper and less hassle than an engine swap.

I'm with early-1800, get a Gti then you'll get the engine,injection system, brakes, anti roll bars etc… without having to buy all the bits and fitting them unless the Gti is in a worse state than your car.

if you are attached to your car and it's a good one then a 2.0 block from a mk3 golf and a Mk1 head, Gti cam shaft will help or cheaper options are tune your engine to make sure its at 100% with the cars being so light it should be able to keep up with modern traffic.
