What do the 3 sensors in the water flange do?

Any one know what the sensors plugged into the water flange do on a 1989 clipper?
Im pretty sure the one underneath is the temp gauge but what do the 2 on top do? blue and brown i believe- 2 pin.

just had a look and it seems the 83 golfs had a totally different water flange, looks like two flanges. and they only cover 2 senders. I have three. Ahhhh. this is really annoying, my haynes doesnt say either.  

Does anybody know what senders are in the 1989 flanges?
