Weber 36 TLP Help.

Post

Im looking at upgrading my carb. The pierburg 1b3 is giving me no end of trouble.

I understand that the 36tlp is the upgrade for the pierburg 1b3. Car is a 1982 cabrio 1.5gl

Bit of a newb question, but its is as simple as removing the pierburg off the existing manifold, and replacing it with the weber without making any alterations?

Thanks

36TLP is the replacement for the 1B3, I have a TLP on my 1500..

It really is as simple as removing the Pierburg and replacing it with the Weber - you'll need to connect the fuel line to the carb, and the throttle cable.

TLP has a manual choke so you need to run the cable through and connect both ends - and remember the waterchoke on your pierburg? you need to either connect those two hoses together, or to the coolannt connections atthe base of the carb - I suffered from icing quite badly until I put coolant through the carb and its been fine ever since!

1 hour tops.

Take it easy ; )

Also, how is the performance? I've heard it makes a world of difference using the weber.

a new weber makes a world of difference compared to a knackered old Pierburg, but if they were both in the same condition they'd be pretty much the same..
