Water pump problem?
I think my water pump on my 91 clipper cab has died, as there doesn't seem to be water circulating to the header tank. Does this sound the likely problem?
Are there any guides out there to fitting a new one?
I did a search, but couldn't find anything.
Is this a big job or fairly straight forward?
Any help would be great!

suppose the easiest way to check would be to take off he top hose to the rad and turn the engine over and see if it pumps out the water.
i'm not sure if this is the best way! but you will find out quick enough

"no water in top hose"
"boiling over"
please tell me you are only driving about a mile. at a time!
it could be an air lock, try backflushing the rad and see what comes out. then make sure there is a good flow throught the rad,
when refilling with water, disconnect the top hose untill water is coming out the reatatch it, as paul_c said in another post also make sure that the heater is fully open (slid the knob to red, not turn the fan on full)
thats what i would do to start with. i'm sure loads would do other stuff and they tell you. let us know how ou get on!

I'm not sure if the water pump is knackered though. How can I tell?
I ran the engine with the heater on full, and the lid off the header, then when it started to get warm, the water level rose out of the header, so I switched off the engine, the water level dropped to normal on the header tank and then I out the lid on, ran the engine for a few mins until the rad fan came on.
Before this I took the hose from the top of the rad to the header off and blew it through. It was fine.
Does all this sound right?
