Does anyone happen to know what this cable might be for?
I've just noticed that it's sitting there doing nothing!
It looks like a bonnet pull but the bonnet pull already works perfectly.
I've circled where it comes into the engine bay

Thats for the heater blower matey there shud be two pipes that go into the central area of the firewall (theyll be one ontop of the other) on them there will be a plastic sort of adjuster that this wire clips to, i think its for adjusting the amount of heat that comes out the blower
Hope that helps

That is the part you need, you will need to find a metal clip which holds the cable onto it.
If the copper pipe someone has fitted is letting water through you should be getting hot air in the car as the valve stops water getting past in to the cabin.
Just to check, you only get hot air from the vents on top of the dash and 2 small vents at the side or the foot wells, you only get cold air from the main side vents you can open.
Cheaper one here as VW heritage are always expensive…..

Some others on ebay as well, GSF sell them, £8.28.
