choke question

I have bought a twin choke weber carb for my 1989 mk1 clipper 1800.
do i need a bracket to fit the automatic choke to the side of the carb?
am i being a bit thick, was hoping to get it on today. do i need a new auto choke unit entirely.
thanks in advance, need to get this sorted quick as the carb that is fitted is using petrol at a rate of knots!

The carb you have is a manual choke weber 32/34 dmtl, and it requires a manual choke cable attaching and correctly setting up. A lot of people fit them to replace the problematic and restrictive pierburg 2e2 auto choke carbs.

thank you. i think i may have found a way of actuating the choke with the auto choke unit.

You would be better binning the auto choke with the pierburg carb. Thats the main reason folk upgrade to the webber, so that they can fit a manual choke.

First Golf, lots of work. I've started so I'll finish!
