Timing how to?

HI guys, everything is back together on my car I just need to sort the timing out. Can any of you provide a step by step procedure for this? tearing my hair out with haynes manual. Car is 1989 Clipper 1.8 carb

thanks for reply Ive got the cam timing set now, belt on andf tensioned. The only thing I think I need to do is the advance retard adjustment on the dizzy

loosen the clamp on the dizzy and twist it clockwise to retard, or anti clockwise to advance.  if you dont have a light then advance it till it pinks then back it off a bit, or if you have got one there's a diamond on the flywheel, under the little flappy cover thing on the gearbox..
