timing belt vs. cam belt

Hi,

can someone tell me if timing belt and cam belt are the same? I asked the previous owner of the car if timing belt was done and he said yeah, just the cam belt needs doing?
Its for a 1992 mk1 cab 1.8 carb

Yes both are the same - so it looks like you need the belt changed  8)

people sometimes get the auxillary belt mixed up with timing belt. Just had my belt done last week, most garages will do it for under £100 (well around durham anyway)
