Ticking noise

Guys,

My 1.8 Clipper 1990 has developed a ticking noise over the last few months.  Its quite random, can happen when its cold, it can happen when its been driven, sat for a while, then started back up again etc etc.

Originally I thought it was maybe the tappets so I replaced them, no joy.  I thought maybe it was maybe the oil pump on the way out so I replaced that too.

Still there…. Any other suggestions?  :banghead:

It runs perfectly, best it has done for a while after the tappets/oil pump/oil change, its just this random noise!

Thanks a lot in advance guys.

Think I have this very same noise, when you say ticking is it like a tap tap tap metal to metal?

Mine is a 1.8 clipper 1989.

Also mine dosent always do it. I had my cam belt changed a few weeks back and since then it has done it. I dont recall hearing it before cam change.

Sorry no help whatsoever but wouuld be great if sombody could shed some light on this issue.
