Thirsty engine

I had a lumpy car from cold and replaced all the usual, wax stat etc, then new carb, ran fine for a while.

Drove to work this morning, lumpy as hell, and drank about a quarter of the tank, got to work and some guy who had been following me for about 2 miles, pulled up and told me my car stank of fuel! Check it myself with my hand over the exhaust. I am now stinking out the office with a fuel filled hand!

Is this the mixture or something more life threatening?  :evil:
