Tappit settings for 1.8 CARB engine???? URGENT PLEASE HELP??
mines a 1.8 carb, could you do me huge favour and look to see what the tippet settings and sequence for the 1.8 engine are???????
would they be the same as the GTI? was the 1.8 carb engine only issued to the clipper?

1.8 in a Clipper is almost certainly going to be hydraulic self adjusting tappets.
Its not unusual for them to rattle a bit at startup but should quieten down after a min or two.
You could try some engine flush and a new filter and fresh oil to see if that works.

On my old Mk1 1.6 carb engine it was a solid lifter head. I dumped that in the bin, and stuffed a Mk2 GTi head on. Loads better.
