Struggling to start in the cold
Heyhey,
I have been having a small issue with my Mk1 cabby. When i go out in the morning to drive it, or if it has been sat for a few hours it struggles to start.
It seems to turn over, but I have to keep it turning over for quite a while before anything happens.
any ideas? (I know it could be a number of differant things, but what would be the best place to start)
thanks
Steve

Looking down on the engine bay from above it is located above the battery. i.e. the battery is located just behind the grill, the air filter is closer to the windscreen.
If that makes sence.
And hey Rubjonny, havn't seen you since the days of no-rice

alrighty sounds like a gti, if so it should have 4 metal braided lines that go to the backof the head to the injectors, plus a big fuel filter on the front.
if it is a gti id start by checking the 5th injector (blue thing in the inlet manifold) and the thermoswitch (brown thing in front coolant flange)
also check starter motor it should have 2 spade terminals 1 with a red/black, the other with 1 or 2 black wires. if the black wire(s) are unplugged then this will probably be why. if starter only has 1 spade you have the wrong one for your car
