starter motor removal

Hi all!

been a way for a while (from the forum and my golf) time to get stuck in again! I have a 1.8 clipper auto that has a dead engine. I have changed the battery, checked all the fuses, tested that electricity is getting to alternator/coil/ignition switch but when i turn the key nothing happens…..Which leads me to think it might have something to do with the starter motor - which i cannot see or get to.

Does anybody have any tips on how to access it?

many thanks

Is the car definitely in Park/neutral?   Just checking! I think the starter is in a stupid place under the exhaust manifold on automatics. Warm starting is more of an issue with most because of that. There's loads of previous posts on auto starter problems if you do a search. Hopefully it's something easy like a dirty earth connection.
