Wires should be 1 large ring connector and 1 spade connector. In addition, there will be another 1 or 2 ring connectors onwards to the alternator. So unless your wiring has been modified to replace a space connector with a ring, then it should just plug in and work. If the wiring is connected properly and its spinning without engaging the ignition switch, then double check there isn't a wiring fault with the switch (check the spade terminal for +12V) and if its not live, then it could be a starter motor fault (solenoid stuck on). It does occasionally happen.

To see the wiring connections, visit:

http://www.fastgolf.org.uk/modules.php?name=Wiring

and put into 2. Device Query: "B Starter" and it will list the wires, colour codes, thicknesses and what they're connected to.

swap the 2 wires over, the red/black wire goes to terminal '50' and the black wire(s) go to termianl 15a.

if that solves the problem then you need to figure out why the black wires are permanently live, they shouldnt be!

check the red/blkack wire with a multimeter too, it should only be live when the key is turned to position 2 or cranking
