spluttering when cold

i've got a golf 1.8carb clipper the problem i've got is wen the cars cold it splutters at low revs  but if i put my foot down it stops .it only happens wen drivin properly at normal speeds until its warmed up can anyone help. :?

not been funny but have you tried some choke??

its fiied with a pierburg 2e carb have these got a autochoke

Think all 1.8 pierburg carbs are autochoke, this can a pain in the backside when not set up/maintained correctly. If you have a manual choke you'll have a pull out choke lever in the dashboard to the left of the steering wheel.

Carb problem

Fit a WEBBER its easy to do and no more problems .It realy isn't worth your sanity messing with the old carb they are a nightmare. :banghead:

Spluttering when cold

Do you have owners manual? I had been given wrong advice about starting my GL that has auto choke. When I checked manual it was easier to live with. If you don't have manual and want info let me know.
