speedo cable

oes anybody no if the auto cable is that same   manuel on a 1982 mk1 golf 1457cc ?

Alright mate,
                  No the speedo cable on a auto transmission is not the same as a manual.
I had trouble trying to find one myself BUT I found a company that supplies them, and they work.

If you have the later dash and clocks you will need to order
Golf/ All Models/ A/ 1989-91 /-416384-63
although my auto is a 1983 model i ordered one for that age and it did not fit so had to order the one for golf all models… Catch my drift?
