Sound at startup when engine is cold...
On warm days i do not have this sound.
I have 10-40 oil in the engine.
It only lasts for a second or two.
Any ideas?

After I put castrol in mine I got a very short tapping noise. Thought maybe it didn't like the newer special oils?

I cleanded the engine and the enginbay here the other day. Could it be that there has come some water in the engine that causes this sound?

Very common fella, just tappets.
When oil is cold it is not lubricating the tappets, until engine is warm/hot then it goes away.
But for those whom the tapping remains even when warm, follow this tut.
A good cure is empty 1 litre 'Not All' of oil from block and put in 1 litre of ATF auto transmission fluid.
Leave this in for approx 1 week, this in turn will clean the block and the tappets.
After the week, drain out all the oil and replace it with new oil only no atf and your tapping will be gone.

So it is safe to drive the car with that sound?
I changed the oil today, just to make shure that it was no water in the oil after i cleande the engine bay. But it did not help.
Il try to drive the car tomorrow to se if the sound goes away when the engine gets warm.

with either method you risk breaking down the hard deposits on seals, oil cooler that are holding them together/preventing leaks so bear that in mind.
try an oil change using decent quality stuff such as fuchs titan or quantum synta silver and a decent filter either genuine vw or mann:

I used Lucas stop seal which is a thick oil which lubricates the engine.
I put in engine flush first…then changed the oil after letting it work for the specified time..
I then mixed 1 litre of the Lucas stabiliser oil with the Synta oil and filled it right up just very slightly over the max level.
I then took it for a short spin of about a mile and drained a bit out to get the oul level back to just under the max mark.
Never have heard the thinking noise since… Well pleased..
The Lycas oil renews the seals properties and is very good…
Trust me it really works…

I used a good quality engine flush and changed the oil and oil filter.
I had the car runing for 10 minuttes with the engine flush, and after 5 minuttes i noticed that the ticking sound started to disapear. After 10 minuttes it was gone:-)
