Rough Idle Weber Carb

Post

Evening everyone!

Got a small problem which im hoping someone will be able to shed somw light on..

Got a 1.8 EX on a weber 32/34 which was stalling all the time. I stripped it all down and replaced the rubber carb flange, it ran really nice again for about 200 miles and now ive got this problem. (Video below)

- YouTube

It can jump between stalling and 1500 rpm erratically. It drives fine about 1500rpm as well, pulls well etc.

The mixture is spot on and I cant find a leak in the new flange, I have sprayed WD40 all around the flange and the rpm doesnt change.

The fuel tank is lovely and clean so im ruling that out as well.

Its got me pretty confused.

Im wondering if it could be something on the ignition side, the timing is set spot on and the plugs, leads, cap and rotor arm are all new. Ive heard a few people mention either hall sender or ignition module.

What does everyone think? Its a nightmare to drive everyday haha.

Thanks
Joe

have you checked the fuel lines themselves are clear?
try making a gravity fed fuel tank, i.e a container with a pipe to the carb fuel input, that way if the problem persists then u should be able to rule out a fuel issue

ive seen some weber dont like having the swirl pot fitted for some reason, try removing it cap the fuel return and run pump straight to the carb. if that sorts it you can put the pot back in but with a restrictor in the return line which seems to do the trick, a welding tip is suggested
