if your using a cork one, then the ones you have should be fine, if your using a rubber gasket its alot thicker so you need to change the studs

you can get the rubber gasket and studs as a pack new from VW, think i paid about £25 though

Think a few on here use a mk2 one

Cheers

Some of the aftermarket studs also have a hex allen key hole in them, makes stud extraction easier. But they don't have the retaining collar so ensure you use some loctite and measure things correctly.

Two nuts locked onto the stud and then use an impact driver to loosen them :-)

Just called VW, this kit is now obsolete. The studs (N 101 863 01 @ 16p each +VAT) are still available to order - which is just as well as most of the aftermarket rubber gaskets don't come with them.
