Replacement Carb

i need to replace the carb on my 1989 1.6 golf cabriolet as it is knackered. i was thinking of getting a performance carb, such as a weber but i dont know which one to go for, or which ones fit…can anyone help?

I'm not sure exactly which one it is for a 1.6, but I'd give GSF a call if there's one near you.  They'll make sure you get the right weber replacement.

i was really hoping that i could get a bigger carb then the pierburg that is on there now. i think the direct replacement for it is a 34 dtml. does anybody know if i can go any bigger than this

also will having a bigger carb make any performance changes or is the direct replacment weber big enough need some help guys  :banghead:

Hi Mk1 Chick. You will need a Weber 32/43 DTML.  Its a good replacement of your tired Pierburg. Also has some added benifits of an manual choke, slight power increase and better fuel comsuption. Ebay has the odd good bargin so check it out.
