Pierburg trouble.....

any idea's gang…. got a 1988 1.8 carb cab, and it runs on after i switch it off, but not always. also hesitant when driving along at normal traffice speed. car is fully serviced up with vw parts and 82,000 miles. want a weber but can'r afford it at the mo….. please help. :wink:

Run-on would indicate an ignition timing issue - nothing to do with the carb and doesn't have to happen everytime. You need to check/adjust the timing, but you may well need a timing light to do this unless you have a bit of experience with adjusting ignition timing.
