pic above is for 2e3 carb on smallblock, the 2e2 carb for big block differs. mixture justment screw is in the top under the big rubber bung in the airbox. iirc it works opposite to 'normal' mixture screws?

idle adjustment is complex, and shouldn't be messed with unless you're 100% positive it is needed. 9 times out of 10 its a carb issue causing bad idle rather than setup. same goes for the mixture screw, this and idle adjustment should be the very last thing you mess with after going thru my 2e2 guide top to bottom

im so happy to "see" you here! :)
the screw your talking about isn't just the air?!?  when i close it all the way down the carb still works….. does it mean it sucks air somwhere?
the big round thing on the back isnt responseble for the fuel amount?

the screw on the top under the rubber bung adjusts the fuel mixture at idle, the idle speed is adjusted a few ways.  as I said, make sure the carb is 100% correct and there are no other issues before you mess with the carb itself. i.e. check all the vacuum hoses, make sure both electric valves on the back get 12v, check the rubber flange and inlet gaskets arent leaking, make sure the coolant chanel oring is clear and allowing coolant to pass thru to the autochoke and waxstat etc

look at the basics, make sure all the ignition components are tip top, look at the timing, make sure dizzy is good workign order and genuine bosch blah de blah
